We offer four shades of stain for our finished items: Black, Kona, Walnut and Classic Oak. These colors are a water-based stain and poly combination made by Varathane. According to their labeling, the max VOC content on these stains is <275 g/L. The coloring of each stain does slightly vary depending upon the underlying wood type. For reference use the wood/stain swatch photos attached to each product to get a better idea of what to expect when ordering. Please note: the Black stain is just that, a stain and not a black paint. It is the darkest color we offer, but really a darker shade of brown.
